National Onion Rings Day
National Onion Rings Day is coming up! On June 22, we recognize the crispy and delicious appetizer we call onion rings.1 Onion rings are a very popular side dish in America but they can also be found in Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and even some parts of Asia.
Onion rings are made by slicing onions into rings, dipping them into a batter, and then deep-frying them. The exact origin of onion rings is not known, with multiple restaurants claiming to have invented them. However, we can all agree that they are best served fresh out of the fryer, and with your favorite dipping sauce.
