Food Safety Around the Campsite

July is National Grilling Month1, the perfect time to fire up the barbecue and celebrate all things grilled! Whether you're cooking steaks, burgers, veggies, or kabobs, this month reminds us to keep food safety in mind to ensure a fun and healthy experience for everyone. From keeping raw meats properly chilled to avoiding cross-contamination, a few simple steps can make a big difference. Check out this Food Safety Blog for a quick refresher on safe grilling practices, especially when camping!2
Summer is also a time to gather friends and family, experiment with new recipes, and bask in the sunshine while savoring smoky, flavorful dishes. So, grab your tongs, fire up the grill, and make the most of National Grilling Month because it’s not just about the food; it’s about making memories around the fire!
Grilled Chicken Vegetable Kabobs
These grilled chicken and vegetable kabobs are a delicious and convenient addition to your next barbecue or camping trip.3 The versatile marinade can be easily customized to match your family’s favorite flavors.
Kabobs are perfect for camping—assemble them ahead of time, store them in a large Tupperware, and they’ll be ready to toss on the grill whenever you are. They also make fantastic leftovers: serve over rice, toss into a salad, or wrap them up for an easy next-day meal.
